Statement of Intent

Our Curriculum is designed to fulfil our School Vision

At Crookham Infant School we aim to make learning irresistible so that as Team Crookham we all develop the life-long learning habits of resilience, resourcefulness, reflectiveness and reciprocity through exploring together the loving invitation of Jesus to ‘live life in all its fullness’ John 10:10.

Our vision stems from our Christian foundation and is firmly rooted in our values:

Love God, Love Others, Love Learning.

In every subject we have selected topics that have great appeal to the children in order to create irresistible learning.

We promote our Team Crookham learning habits across all areas of the curriculum so that learning is deep, meaningful and prepares children for fulfilling and lifelong learning.

We believe that all pupils should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential whatever their background, identity and circumstance. We are committed to creating a community that recognises and celebrates difference within a culture of respect and cooperation. Our commitment to equality and diversity is a fundamental part of our drive towards excellence and is achieved by ensuring we use a variety of teaching styles within a creative curriculum where all children can be included and can achieve. Sometimes children will work as a whole class, sometimes in ability groups or mixed ability groups, sometimes in pairs or independently. Work is differentiated to cater for the needs of different ability levels and focused support is provided on some occasions to each of these groups. Additional information on this can be found in our Special Educational Needs (SEND) Policy and our Equalities Information and Objectives.
