Welcome to the Summer Term!  We have started our learning this term by retelling the story of the Parable of the Sower.  We have thought about how this links to our school value of “loving learning”.  You certainly have shown you love learning, Year 2. What fabulous thinking and writing!

Later on this term, we will be learning about local resident Samuel Cody who was the first man to fly a plane in Britain.  Did you know the first flight took place nearby in Farnborough?  We’ll also be thinking about travelling further afield to space!  More information about topics covered this term can be found in our topic web below.

As always, keep reading every day and don’t forget to practise your spellings. New spellings are sent home each Monday. Choose a word or two a day to practise until you can spell it accurately – try putting your word into a sentence.  Preview learning will be sent home each week with ideas for activities to do at home and a sneaky peak at next week’s learning.  Preview learning will give you a head start each week so certainly worth doing!

Please don’t hesitate to come and speak to Mrs Parker, Miss Slater or Mrs Edwards if you have any questions and, as always, a huge thank you to all the grown-ups at home who support you with your learning at home.
