Welcome back from your Easter holidays!
We are looking forward to a fun filled Summer Term, with lots of exciting learning opportunities. We are starting this term with our Vision and Values week - Year 1 are focussing on our value of "Loving Others" using the Bible story of the Good Samaritan.
Next we will be jumping aboard with some pirates and finding out all about some famous pirates as well as learning about pirate ships and reading lots of pirate stories. In Maths we are counting in 10s and beginning to learn the basics of multiplication and division.
In other areas of the curriculum, the children will be learning about the Jewish festival of Shabbat in RE - we will link this to our love of others too. In Science, we will be learning all about different materials, and are looking forward to lots of fun Science investigations together. Our DT and Art also link to Pirates - we will be helping Pirate Patch with a series of problems!
Please check our Topic Web for further detail and information. We are looking forward to enjoying some sunshine and outdoor learning this term.
Please keep reading as much as possible at home – daily if possible, and don't forget to practice counting, reading and writing your numbers too. Please also make sure your PE kit is in school and as the weather is still nice, we will be going outside so please bring suitable plimsolls or trainers. Don’t forget to check your name is on all of your kit and uniform!
Thank you for spending the time to read, research and explore with your child.
