Willow

Year 2 are starting the second half of the Autumn term with a history focus, learning all about the Great Fire of London.  We have already taken part in an interactive theatre production and built and burnt our Tudor houses!   We are well on our way to becoming Fire of London experts.

Once we have written diaries and reports about the Fire, Year 2 will be using their imaginations to write a report about fire breathing dragons!  All our work in Forest School learning about habitats and food chains will come in handy!

PE continues to be on Thursday this term but it is appreciated if PE kits can be in school every day.  Our reading and spelling challenges are well under way.  Well done to all the children already on their third and even fourth coloured challenge cards!

We will continue to send preview learning home every week with some suggestions of activities you can do at home helping you to be ready for the learning to come in the following week. Thank you to everyone who has brought their learning in from home to share with the class. It’s always nice to see!

And last but by no means least, if you or your grown ups have any questions about your learning, life in Year 2 or anything else about school, please don’t hesitate to come and ask. Mrs Parker in Willow Class and Miss Slater and Mrs Edwards in Pine Class (or Mrs Chegwidden on a Friday afternoon), are always happy to help as best they can.
