Another busy half term is ahead of us!
We are continuing to enjoy the benefits and excitement of Forest School for another few weeks. We are learning all about how to look after birds during the colder weather. Our half termly topic is What the Forest Knows to link in with Forest School. This includes looking at a range of traditional tales, looking at story language and comparing characters and settings.
In Maths we are revisiting one more, one less, securing place value to 50, doubling, and learning how to measure. We are so proud of our learning - what a long way we have come already.
In other areas, we are linking our learning in Art by creating nature sculptures indoors and outdoors! Science also links to our Forest School learning - we have even planted some beans and we are watching hopefully to see what will happen! In History we are learning all about transport, culminating with our school trip to Milestones Museum.
Our RE learning links to Easter, and we will be investigating the Easter story, looking at why Christians are happy and sad around this time. We will be carrying out a range of thinking activities linked to this.
Keep up the great learning, Year 1!
Please keep reading as much as possible at home – daily if possible, and don't forget to practice counting, reading and writing your numbers too. Please also make sure your PE kit is in school and as the weather is still nice, we will be going outside so please bring suitable plimsolls or trainers. Don’t forget to check your name is on all of your kit and uniform!
Thank you for spending the time to read, research and explore with your child.
